Barcelona just spent $142 Million dollars, (with incentives could go to $193M), on 25 year old Brazilian attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool. Absurd by any standard. Huge congrats to Coutinho. Take your share of the money and run.

Regarding Jonathan Gonzalez. Lots of hand wringing and finger pointing at Arena, Sarachan, et al. There is a very good article about this on American Soccer Now. One federation identified him, one federation courted him gave him opportunities at several youth levels, one federation has its scout visit him three times this past year. One federation ignored him until he became a starter, and that was the one he chose.

To me it is pretty clear. He is an opportunist and or traitor.
