MLS

Robbie Rogers of LA Galaxy forced to retire due to ankle injury that he never came back from.

The Galaxy also released several players that came up through their academy system but failed to make a lasting impact on the senior squad.

Vancouver has released long time starting goalkeeper David Ousted.

Minnesota's Ibson will be a part of my 2017 MLS Best 11 list because of this skill - I call it pick pocket defense. I bet he swiped the ball off people more than 50 times this season. Remarkable at this trick:

NASL FINAL

Stefano Pinho of Miami named NASL Golden Boot Award winner
  • He had 17 goals

The last 4 years of NASL Golden Boot winners has looked like this:
  • 2014: Christian Ramirez (Minnesota United, 20 goals)
  • 2015: Stefano Pinho (Fort Lauderdale Strikers, 16 goals)
  • 2016: Christian Ramirez (Minnesota United, 18 goals)
  • 2017: Stefano Pinho (Miami, 17 goals)
I think someone should be in MLS next year - hint, hint

The Mexican Football Federation has been fined 11 times by FIFA in the last 24 months for fans homophobic chants - 160,000 Euros in total. It does not appear as though FIFA is going to do anything serious about this problem. At one point the fines were increasing each time, but the last 4 fines all went way back down.
