More signs that even after a supposed "house cleaning" NOTHING has changed inside FIFA:
  • Two ethics committee leaders who are in the middle of 100s of investigations have been fired by president Gianni Infantino. Essentially stoppin all investigations dead in their tracks. By Simon Evans for Reuters.
  • Another FIFA official is fired, pressured by Russia that he be removed. By Tariq Panja for Bloomberg.
  • This latest fired investigator has just taken a renewed interest in bribery charges against Sheikh Ahmad al-Sabah who is also an Olympic committee member.
  • Others are said to be following those who have been fired out the door in protest.

NASL announces a new team coming in 2018 to Orange County CA.
  • Eric Wynalda has been reported to be the head coach by Fifty Five One, but not confirmed by the team or league.
  • They will play at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Stadium - a place known to long time American soccer fans.
  • Interesting: USL already has Orange County SC (home games in Irvine) in their 5th season, which has an affiliation with forthcoming MLS team LAFC.
