Some Soccer News for Mar 9, 2017

It's Day 68 of 2017.


Tuesday was an extraordinary day in the UEFA Champions League.

American Christian Pulisic had a huge game for Dortmund and they rolled into the next round. (See more below in Americans Abroad.)

But the biggest story was Barcelona overcoming a 4-0 loss at PSG in the 1st Leg only to score SIX goals at home and win the series 6-5. Unreal comeback. Si se puede indeed!

AMERICANS ABROAD

Christian Pulisic - Dortmund rolled over Benfica 4-0 in Champions League with Pulisic starting and right in the middle of all the action! He got the assist on 2 goals and scored the game and series winner! What a night for the 18 year old.

Paul Arriola - scored a huge goal in the Rd of 16 in Copa MX as they beat Club America 1-0. In the Quarterfinals they will host Morelia.
  • Michael Orozco and Joe Corona both played the full 90 in this game as well.
  • Jose Villafana started and went 90 for Santos Laguna as they won 1-3 at Necaxa. They will take on Cruz Azul next.
  • Jonathan Bornstein played the whole game but Queretaro was knocked out in Penalties.

Geoff Cameron - again went the full 90 in the center of midfield as the went to Manchester City with Stoke and got a 0-0 result. Looks like he is back to 100%, if not 100% fitness.
