MINNESOTA UNITED

How many times over the past year, on this blog and on Twitter, did I warn Minnesota United about the consequences of not spend enough time, money and effort getting their defense right for MLS? Yeah, its a real big problem for them.
  • Only 6 teams have scored more goals than MNUFC - and over the past several years goal scoring has been a good team trait.
  • On the flipside, the 13 goals allowed is a complete disaster. The 2nd worse defense in the league is a tie between Houston and DC who have each allowed 6 goals. Oof.
  • It took Toronto 9 years to figure this out and fix it.

We hear from Collen Warner on the start of the season, plus other MNUFC tidbits. By Jeff Rueter for Fifty Five One.

What is the progress on the lacerated knee suffered by goalkeeper John Alvbage in the Atlanta game? By Andy Greder for the Pioneer Press.
