A nice video clip collection of Minnesota Stars/United via the NASL:

While the TV show Atlanta has been eye opening and inspiring in its originality, the music within the show is just as unique - the way you wish all commercial art was created, and almost never is. by Joe Coscarelli of the New York Times.

dN

Student names of the day (yes they are real):
Kent Sadness
Shawshank Holalkore

dN

Aaron Long of New York Red Bulls II has been named USL Defender Of The Year.

Mitch Hildebrandt of Cincinnati has been named USL Goalkeeper Of The Year.
  • We all expect Matt VanOekel to be named NASL Goalkeeper OTY, meaning two former Minnesota United keepers would win huge awards. But you know what, I would still take Sammy Ndjock as my goalkeeper.

dN

Its kind of amazing to think that in Leg 1 of the MLS Quarterfinals Dallas, New York Red Bulls, New York City and Colorado Rapids were held to a combine 0 goals.

dN

Did you know... The Red Bulls had not lost a game before Sunday since July the 3rd!

Many people are still left wondering what happened to NYCFC and why the coach would change the line up and team tactics IN THE PLAYOFFS? Lots of team tidbits on the 2 New York clubs. By Michael Lewis of Big Apple Soccer.

dN

So what exactly is Robbie Keane's role with the LA Galaxy right now? By Jeff Carlisle of ESPNFC.

The MLS Awards Finalists were announced today and here is the list for Most Valuable Player:
Sacha Kljestan (New York Red Bulls)
David Villa (New York City FC)
Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls)
  • I voted for Mauro Diaz of Dallas
  • And many people are quite upset that Sebastian Giovinco was not on that list.

dN

1000 days ago David Beckham and Co. announced that they would put a MLS team in Miami. Oof. By Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated.
  • That's an embarrassingly long time for NO PROGRESS to have been made.

dN

Americans Abroad last weekend:
  • Josh Gatt made his 4th start since a multi-year layoff due to knee injuries, going 80 minutes and scoring his first goal in ages, the winner, for Molde - 3-0 v Stabaek.
  • Bobby Wood started but got ejected for Hamburger. They got beat 3-0 at Koln. What a joke of a red card. See the offense here. [VIDEO] It appears as though Superman threw that elbow.
  • Omar Gonzalez sat out the Pachuca game with some sort of knee injury. No idea the extent of the severity. The Gophers won 3-2 v Atlas.

dN

The Bob Bradley + Swansea City Tracker:
  • Results - Mon Oct 31 L 3-1 at Stoke City
  • Standings - 19th Place, 5 Points into Relegation

Why don't they pull the plug quietly in Miami and award that spot
to Sacramento Republic FC or even give it to Tampa Bay Rowdies if they want to keep
the balance of East West conferences?
Really tired of all the Miami stuff.
The powers that be in Miami (politicos) appear not to want anything to do with soccer.
Let De Silva and his gang have it with Miami FC in the NASL (for as long as it lasts).
What are your thoughts?

A guy down the hall from me is from Hamburg, so we usually chat about them each week. He updated me that Wood is now suspended 3 games for the red card.
