Minnesota United head coach Carl Craig says there are no excuses when going to play at New York Cosmos this weekend: "If (we) don’t play well enough, we might not win. If we do, I think we’ve got a good chance, so fuck all the rest."

The return of Landon Donovan to the LA Galaxy. By Kevin Baxter of the LA Times.
  • Bruce Arena: "If you’re going to gamble a little bit, this is a pretty good guy to gamble with."
  • Donovan is getting paid $150,000 for the rest of this season. The team will make that back in 1 or 2 games with extra ticket sales that Donovan will drive.

One of the greats who made Jamaican ska music famous and pushed it into the English mainstream (where I always heard it referred to as bluebeat) was Prince Buster - who passed away on Thursday. By Peter Mason of the Guardian.
