Several big changes coming to the Laws of Football as approved this week by the International Football Association Board. By Bobby McMahon of Forbes.
  • No more "triple" punishment for "denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity" - Was automatic red card, now yellow unless violent.
  • No more stutter-step Penalty Kicks. Punishable by Yellow Card and loss of PK.
  • Keeper coming off the line during PK is punishable by Yellow Card.
  • Free kicks for offside will take place where the pass was made from, not where the player was offside.
  • And many more including tests of some limited video replay for referees.
No idea when these will be put in to motion.

  • Jeb Brovsky (Whitecaps, Impact, NYCFC) & Elbio Alvarez (Penarol, Benfica B) are also in Mexico getting a try out for the next 10 days.
