Highly respected German magazine Der Spiegel just posted this damning story: Germany Appears to Have Bought Right to Host 2006 Tournament
-The accusation says Adidas set up the bid committee with US$11M to use as bribes to buy votes from the Asian Football Confederation. FIFA was in on the movement of the money too.

Despite being suspended by FIFA and under investigation by Swiss prosecutors UEFA has announced that Michel Platini is still their leader! Defiance!

Teams can clinch all of the remaining MLS playoff positions this weekend:
-New England, Columbus and Montreal have the advantage over Orlando for the last 3 spots in the East.
-Kansas City, Seattle and Portland have the advantage over San Jose, Houston and Salt Lake for the last 3 spots in the West.
-Red Bulls, Dallas, LA, Toronto, KC and DC are still in the chase for the Supporters Shield.

In the NASL playoff hunt there is only 1 position still available, but all 8 teams in the league that have not yet qualified are still in the chase. There are 3 weeks to play in the season. Two teams have 2 games left. Six teams have 3 games left. And three teams have 4 games left.
-New York, Ottawa and Minnesota are in, but fighting for seeding and the Fall season title.

Minnesota United travels to Indy Eleven for a Saturday night game. I will be there. Will you?

Remember Copa America Centenario? Its supposed to be taking place in the United States next summer? We're still waiting to find out if its even happening at all, much less in the USA. Still waiting.
