STORY OF THE DAY

The BBC reports that Swiss courts today released records that indicate two long standing FIFA and Brazil executives took huge bribes from a marketing company that was working with FIFA. Former FIFA president and former International Olympic Committee chairman Joao Havelange took $1.5 million in bribes, while recent Brazilian World Cup chairman and recent FIFA executive committee member Ricardo Teixiera blew that away by taking $22.4 million in bribes.

Real Salt Lake stole forward Justin Braun from Montreal in exchange for a future draft pick to be determined.

Vancouver midfielder Davide Chiumiento has been sold to FC Zurich in Switzerland.

Montreal has supposedly signed 21 year old Swiss left fullback Dennis Iapichino from FC Lugano of the 2nd tier in Switzerland.
Toronto has loaned forward Joao Plata to Liga de Quito in Ecuador, the team they bought him from.
