dN

Everton of England has announced that they have sold midfielder Tim Cahill to the New York Red Bulls.
-Can someone again tell me when NYRB got rid of Dane Richards and brought in Sebastien Le Toux? He is not a quality player on the right side of mid-field. He is an attacking forward. Period.

MINNESOTA STARS FC

The Stars lost in Cary, North Carolina on Saturday night in a game that was interrupted for 4 hours by lightning strikes in the area. Carolina has complained loudly that the game should have been abandon, but we all know that if they had been the team trailing that they too would have demanded it be re-started after the weather cleared.

MLS MATCH NOTES

Freddy Adu did not travel with Philly, and he was not hurt. So what's up? The team says he is not being traded, and got a little hinky with reporters who asked the question. Hey, dudes, just tell us why he wasn't at the game and no one will ask the question you don't want to answer. OK? Its not that tough.

dN

Brek Shea did not dress for Dallas either. You can imagine he is in the doghouse.

dN

Does anyone think that the FO of FC Dallas will ever figure out how to sell tickets to their market? Doesn't seem like it.

dN

That large amount of empty seats in all the Houston home games is alarming. They have sold the tickets, but the people are not showing up. That is big worry for the future. You want to see every seat full. Not to mention the fact that it looks ugly on TV. What is going on?

dN

The Timbers set a new MLS record for 697 minutes without a goal on the road.
-GM and interim head coach Gavin Wilkinson: "I think we overachieved some in the first year." Is that due to the job now ex-head coach John Spencer did? Raising this team collectively above their own skill level?

dN

Vancouver got their first penalty kick call of the season. And Barry Robson buried it for a the game winner.

Hey Brucio,

Fans are getting to the games at BBVA Compass Stadium. The only thing is that largish portions of the crowd are late-arriving due to traffic bollixes in the area. Also, the concession and bathroom lines at halftime are amazingly large. Hence, once the second half starts, there are many, many empty seats.

Highlight packages generally only show the stands in a pull-away shot as the game starts or at the beginning of the second half, and thus the impression that the stands are way empty.

Take a look in the middle of the halves, and you will see occupied seats.
