Freddy Adu did not travel with Philly, and he was not hurt. So what's up? The team says he is not being traded, and got a little hinky with reporters who asked the question. The Timbers set a new MLS record for 697 minutes without a goal on the road.
-GM and interim head coach Gavin Wilkinson: "I think we overachieved some in the first year." Is that due to the job now ex-head coach John Spencer did? Raising this team collectively above their own skill level?

A Band Called Death

Hey Brucio,

Fans are getting to the games at BBVA Compass Stadium. The only thing is that largish portions of the crowd are late-arriving due to traffic bollixes in the area. Also, the concession and bathroom lines at halftime are amazingly large. Hence, once the second half starts, there are many, many empty seats.

Highlight packages generally only show the stands in a pull-away shot as the game starts or at the beginning of the second half, and thus the impression that the stands are way empty.

Take a look in the middle of the halves, and you will see occupied seats.
