Toronto FC is making big roster clearing moves that one would assume means new players are on their way. Today money-drain Julian de Guzman was shipped off to FC Dallas in exchange for cheap youngster Andrew Weidman, while last week the team cut Nick Soolsma and loaned out Joao Plata.
-Its pretty evident that Paul Mariner is firmly in control of this team now, and while the 10 points they have earned during the 8 games he has been in charge is not all that exciting, its an amazing turnaround from the 3 points they earned in the first 10 games of the season under Aron Winter.

dN

Chelsea's John Terry has been found NOT guilty of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand of Queens Park Rangers.
-Garth Crooks of the Guardian sees this as a bad day for those trying to end racism.

dN

Huge deal in Europe as new money Paris St Germain just spent $62 Million to buy Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic from AC Milan (remember when they were a huge club, not any more.)

dN

Scottish Football has announced that the new Glasgow Rangers must start over from the bottom tier, the Third Division and work their way back up the 4 rung ladder to the Premier League. Good luck with that.
-Immediately afterward the Scottish Premier League announced that they are planning to create a Premier League 2nd division (a new 2nd tier) and invite Rangers and all First Division (current 2nd tier) teams to join.

VIDEO OF THE DAY

Cam Tucker of Canada.com with the story of Vancouver striker Darren Mattocks' insane high flying goal on Wednesday might.
-His knees appear to be at head height of the defender, and his own head is above the outstretched arm of the goalkeeper! Hell, he makes it look easy.
-The fact that it happened in second half stoppage time was not bad either.

The Jamaica Observer in his homeland is taking notice too.

Here is video of the sky walking!
