CONCACAF World Cup qualifying for Brazil 2014 begins today! Oh yeah! I live for this. How about you?

ESPN again has shown their pathetic side for American soccer. If you search their website good luck finding anything about the USA World Cup qualifier tonight. They don't appear to have written 1 word about it.

TEAM USA - EL EQUIPO DE TODOS

World Cup Qualifying

It starts off with a bit of a roster disaster as both left fullbacks have come up injured. Fabian Johnson got hurt during the warm ups against Canada, and now Edgar Castillo has picked up an injury in training.
The lack of fullback options chosen by head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has caused a self inflicted dilemma. There is no reason with all the available talent that they team should find themselves in this position.
Inexcusable for a national team coach.
But remember Klinsmann has never been through a qualifying tournament. Much less one in CONCACAF.
Tonight against A+B the USA should be fine, but on Tuesday in Guatemala it could be a disaster. A completely avoidable disaster.
The obvious answer is to play Carlos Bocanegra at left fullback where he has played many times in his professional career, anything else is putting someone in a very foreign spot on the field.

I know that I am somewhat overreacting here, and that this team has a lot of talent and pride which will carry them through these two games.
But anything other than 6 points is unacceptable.

UEFA EURO 2012

The referee played way too big of a role in the first game of the tournament as Greece had a player sent off for 2 yellow cards on calls that were barely fouls much less card-able offenses. Then Poland should have been called for a hand ball in the box as the player literally falls on the ball in the penalty box. Oh well.
But Poland got a huge save on a Penalty Kick, after they squandered 7 great chances to score more in the first half. Greece played great in the 2nd half and deserved the tie at least.

Russia dominated the Czechs in game two and looked very strong going forward.

Round 2 in Group A should be great games.
