Some Soccer News for Tue Apr 17, 2012

STARTERS

Yesterday's edition of the Jurgen Klinsmann podcast took on a very weird air in which Klinsmann and interviewer Alan Hopkins both appeared to throw thinly veiled criticism at Landon Donovan, with Hopkins getting in the final and most direct shot. Listen for yourself. I thought the whole thing was really weird, especially after the two of them spent the first part of the interview slobbering all over Clint Dempsey.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Semifinals

Bayern got the win in the 90th minute today, but giving up that road goal will most likely be their curse. Yes the final will be played at Bayern's home stadium and that will be a huge motivator for the second leg, but I just don't see it happening in Madrid. Great game for Bayern today though.
