BUMMER OF THE DAY

The guys who own Toronto FC make the owners of the New England Revolution look like they give a damn.

Sports Business Daily has an article about the TFC owners MLSE placing ads in the Toronto newspapers apologizing to fans for how bad their NHL hockey team is.

They might as well buy those same ads for the next two days as well and just replace Maple Leafs with Raptors one day and Toronto FC the next. Cuz they all stink, and they will as long as these bozos own the teams. MLSE has no idea how to run a winning sports team. I have heard all kinds of crap from Major League Soccer people about how MLSE is a fantastic ownership group that really knows how to run a business. Well guess what, they have no idea how to win and that is Bullet Point #1 in how to run a SPORTS business book.

BIG PIMPIN

Adidas is pushing the hell out of something they call "micoach." See video here.

For the life of me I can't figure out what it does beyond tell you have far you have run. Maybe speed?

Anyway, its their big feature for the MLS All Star game in the summer when a big foreign team plays the best MLS players.

They are supposedly announcing Chelsea as the MLS opponent on Wed morning.

Power, speed, and heart rate will tell the athlete if they are performing at a level that will keep them getting stronger/improving over time, or declining to fatigue levels by overtraining.
It comes from the cycling world, they have perfected the optimal training levels during a long season to maximize performance.

Pushing someone to much for the all mighty dollar is a good way to get someone killed. there has to be a balance of entertainment and preserving the athletes health
