Some Soccer News for Fri Mar 23, 2012

STARTERS

Great memory from opening day in KC last week: Guy standing next to me dressed very regular during first half. Leaves at halftime. Comes back for start of 2nd half in brand new Sporting jersey, hat and scarf! I say to him, Wow you went all in! He starts to speak and I notice he has a German accent. He moved to KC from Bielfeld a couple years ago. Loves his team Armenia Bielfeld. He went to a few Sporting games last year and enjoyed it so much he bought a season ticket for this year. He is a total convert! Fantastic. Why is it so hard to get poser Americans who support EPL teams to do this?

ITS A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE! Jose Pepe Moreno is not only in Boston but he is training with the New England Revolution today! Its been a long time coming since they first said he would arrive, then he backed out, then they held his feet to the fire, then..., and then... and then....... Now lets see if he can contribute!

Dave Martinez of Soccer By Ives gives us some insight as to why New York Red Bulls forward Luke Rodger is having trouble getting a work visa to return to the United States.
-Homeland Security is involved.
-Rodgers is a real piece of work.
-Do you think he has the same name and looks as a member of Al Quida? Maybe he could join that new Gitmo league?

STORY OF THE DAY

“If you have the governance structure of a hunting club, and you deal with billions per year, you just run huge risks. These guys are working with a kind of impunity. As a criminal lawyer I quite understand why people are so angry.”

The USA rolled over Cuba like they should have. Great finishing by the three goals scorers.

And Joe Benny Corona with the hattrick!
-A quick remembrance of Eddie Johnson against Panama will keep us all from getting too excited about that feat though.

Not bad at all. Now lets see them do exactly the same thing to Canada.

No let downs, no lapse in concentration. Focus, fortitude and fantastic play is what we want to see from our USA team. Overconfidence will kill this team.

dN

Kerith Gabriel of the Philadelphia Daily News talks to Sheanon Williams who was the last player added to the roster.

US Soccer gives us some behind the scenes video with the team.
