Some Soccer News for Wed Feb 1, 2012

BREAKING NEWS:

Disaster in Egypt.


Fans of Al Masry in Port Said stormed the field today after a big upset win over Al Ahli, and then all hell broke lose. As of this posting 73 people are reportedly dead and at least 1000 more injured. There has been little word yet on how the deaths occurred, but a stampede is being blamed for most of it.

Al Jazeera with the most up to date information.

Other games around the country were stopped and the league has been suspended.

There have been stories of a huge fire outside a stadium in Cairo.

Some readers had wondered if Egypt national team coach Bob Bradley was at the game, and info from Twitter has said he was not.
