STARTERS

One day after Luis Suarez was given and 8 game suspension by the English FA for racial abuse, Rob Harris of the AP reports that Chelsea captain John Terry has been charged with racial abuse in a criminal court. Both were part of on field incidents. So why are they being treated differently?

Jozy Altidore saw his team AZ's league cup game at Ajax postponed after a fan ran on the field and went after the AZ keeper, how knocked the fan down and then kicked him only to see the referee then give him a red card. At that point the AZ players walked off the field. Who knows what happens now.

STORY OF THE DAY

Pizza Hut has decided not to renew their sponsorship of FC Dallas' stadium, so it will no longer be called Pizza Hut Park, but rather FC Dallas Stadium.
-What will become of the old Meat Lovers section.
-Is this a failure on FCD's part?
-Is there a new sponsor in the pipeline. My guess is not, because they sure didn't just find this out today when we did.

USA U23/OLYMPIC TEAM

The USA U23/Olympic team is in Lakewood Ranch Florida until Dec 23 for a training camp.

I feel for the AZ team. Considering the stick players get from fans, I wouldn't trust a pitch invader until he's in cuffs. The ref has done what he's told to do, but fault lies with A)the idiot deserving a beat down, B) security for neglecting to maintain the safety of the games' participants.

It's always a balance between fan access and general safety, but the precedent is that AZ have forfeited.
