dN

Colorado Rapids managing director Jeff Plush has resigned. He recently oversaw the ouster of head coach Gary Smith and now he too is out the door. Wow.
-The team does seem like it needs new leadership though.
-Fernando Clavijo (@fclavijo) tweeted that Jim Martin is taking over the team. Martin is currently the President and CEO of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. So I don't know if he is moving over to take this role directly or adding it to his current platter or what. I can't imagine he is moving "over" as right now he is listed as the #3 guy in all of Kroenke's empire right behind Stan and his son Josh.

The Vancouver Whitecaps announced the signing of 34 year old South Korean left fullback Young-Pyo Lee from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

DU NORD AT THE CONTROLS

OK, now, we're back again.
Of course you're listening to WBAI in New York, and this program is Labrynth.
My name is Abdul Sarasian, and we are speaking with Baba or maybe Ras Baba.
"Can I give a message? Hello?"
Go ahead man.
"Yeah. I'd just like to say, um, lets have some music now, huh?"
OK. OK. Thank you.
("Yeah right.")

STORY OF THE DAY

Clint Dempsey scored the 37th goal of his English Premier League career, making him the new all-time leading American goal scorer in Europe. Brian McBride who at one time was Dempsey's teammate at Fulham was the previous top with 36.
-Here are video highlights of Fulham's win against Liverpool and his scrappy goal. Reports say that he had an overall great game.

As long as we are talking about Clint and Fulham lets got back to Spring 2010 and that amazing goal he scored against Juventus in the Europa League knockout stages.
That was a great day.
After the first of two legs Fulham were down 3-1.
which meant they would have to win but at least 3-0 to advance.
When the line ups were announced for Leg 2 and Dempsey was not in the starting 11 all the USA fans on Twitter went nuts.
I posted a tweet and told them all to quiet down.
Then I predicted exactly what was going to transpire.
I said Dempsey would come on as a second half sub and score a dramatic game winner!
Twitter went nuts when it actually happened.
That day I became du Nordstradamus.
I laughed very hard - hahahahahahaha! Fantastic.

Here is video of that amazing Dempsey goal v Juventus.

Fulham went all the way to the Europa final that season but lost to Atletico Madrid 2-1.

ENDERS

Some of the greatest music of all time:

Augustus Pablo
King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown
Listen to it at Spotify right now

I think its one of a small handful of the greatest albums of all time. I am blown away every time I listen to it. Its far from a conventional sounding album. Its almost all instrumental, in a style called Dub. Recorded and released in Jamaica in 1976.

The album cover has Augustus standing in front of a collage featuring Haile Selassie's picture over his left shoulder.

Selassie the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930 to 1974 is also known as the Rastafarian messiah, whose most famous follower was Bob Marley.
