Chris Bascombe of the Telegraph reports that Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has been suspended for 8 games and fined $70K for directing racial slurs at Man United Patrice Evra earlier this season. Wow. That is a stiff penalty.

MLS is expected to release the names of the young players they have recently signed to the special "Generation Adidas" contracts. These are players who are not already affiliated with an MLS club through an academy and are either leaving college early or foregoing it altogether to turn pro.
