Got this ominous/ambiguous note from the New York Cosmos today:
"There has been a buyout at The New York Cosmos and management changes have taken place in various areas of our organization. This also results in a full restructure of both our business and staffing, which will continue to be assessed by the new leadership team that is expected to be appointed within the next 60 days. It is unequivocally the goal of the current ownership to become an MLS team in the most expedient manner possible, and decisions for the club will be made with this in mind." - The New York Cosmos

Hey, has anyone out there seen this German film called The Robber. The reviews are great, but I want to know more about it.

STORY OF THE DAY

AC Milan with an official statement on the health of forward Antonio Cassano:

Medical reports of the Policlinico have said that Antonio Cassano has experienced ischemic cerebral damage. The instrumental and neuroradiological examinations required 72 hours for their course and have highlighted the problem in the circumscribed area of the brain that did not result in persistent neurological deficits. The cause was identified as the presence of a patent foramen ovale septal heart, detectable only with sophisticated specialized investigations. The timing of therapy established has allowed a rapid recovery and improvement of clinical conditions that are good.
In the coming days the player will undergo a small surgical interventional cardiology (closure of the foramen ovale), the recovery time for return to playing will be better defined after the surgery, but probably will be a few months.

HOUSTON DYNAMO

Richard Justice of the Chronicle on the finally jelling Dynamo.

Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Chronicle writes that the Dynamo feel Philly is a dirty team.
-Who isn't calling their opponent dirty? No one.

SPORTING KANSAS CITY SC

Charles Gooch of the Star gets us ready for tonight's first game with a preview that includes Public Enemy, Lord of the Rings, Kevin Stott, dirty play, fat ladies and chickens, plus Teal Bunbury.

LA GALAXY

LA has not lost a game at home all season. I do not see that changing on Thursday night.

Due to previous agreement with University on whose property the Home Depot Center stands stadium capacity will be limited to just 20,000 for Thurs night. Sad. Very sad.

David Bond of the BBC does a video interview with David Beckham. Many topics covered.

The Telegraph also talks to Beckham .

NEW YORK RED BULLS

"...look at Dwayne De Rosario. He scored, what, 16 goals, 12 assists? I mean when you see him on the ball, that’s creativity. Sometimes he doesn’t always succeed in what he does, but you want to see someone that goes and tries to create stuff. Dwayne De Rosario for me should be the face of this league in terms of he’s been playing here for a very long time. I think he has the most championships, the teams he plays on succeed every time. People talk about players like me, Donovan, Beckham all the time. They don’t talk about guys like [Jamison] Olave, [Nat] Borchers, Kei Kamara, all those guys are very good players."

Jack Bell of the NY Times talks to Thierry Henry about his team's tactics and chances against LA.
-Full in-depth Q & A with Henry.

Big Apple Soccer asks Henry what it will take for NY to top LA.

Brian Lewis of the Post has some well measured words for Landon Donovan from Luke Rodgers.

Lewis also sees a very difficult situation ahead for the Bulls.

PHILADELPHIA UNION

Christopher Vito of the Mercury calls it do or die for the Union.

Kerith Gabriel of the Daily News says the Union know their odds of advancing are bad, and they dont care.

REAL SALT LAKE

James Edward of the Deseret writes that RSL knows sitting back and absorbing pressure for 90 minutes will not get the job done in Seattle.

Martin Renzhofer of the Tribune says Alvaro Saborio is the Royals most important player.

Gordon Monson of the Tribune writes about the proven RSL teamwork that had gone missing in the last stretch of the season.

SEATTLE SOUNDERS

Joshua Mayers of the Times looks at the giant obstacle in front of the Sounders - winning by 4 goals!

Mayers breaks down the specifics of the big game for Seattle.

Brian Straus of Sporting News talks to Kasey Keller before what could be his last professional game.

Don Ruiz of the Tacoma News Tribune writes that the Sounders know its gonna take something special to pull this one off.

DU NORD AT THE CONTROLS

ALL NEW: du Nord at the Controls - Tue Nov 1, 2011 - music mix at Spotify
-My longest mix yet at 19 songs - Not meant to be played at low volume.

TEAM USA - EL EQUIPO DE TODOS

Ives Galarcep of Fox talks to LA Galaxy centerback Omar Gonzalez who says he wants to play for the USA.

International Friendlies
Matches & Scores:
-Fri Nov 11
France v USA
-Tue Nov 15
Slovenia v USA

The USA will also hold a U23 and U20 training camp Nov 6-17 in Duisburg Germany to begin sorting out an Olympic qualifying team, that will take place at the same time and location as the USA senior team gathering for 2 friendlies.

Claudio Reyna and Tab Ramos will run this camp as head coach Caleb Porter is still in season with his team at Akron.

There is an insane German influence on this roster. Its so beyond absurd, its almost tunnel vision.
