STORY OF THE DAY

Rob Hughes of the International Herald Tribune looks at Sir Alex Ferguson who will celebrate 25 years in charge of Manchester United this weekend.

MLS CUP PLAYOFFS

The two home teams both won 2-0 last night, for one it meant victory, for the other it meant the end of a season and an era.

Seattle is the first seeded team to be knocked out.

It was also Kasey Keller's last game as a professional soccer player. Damn, he will be missed. He was in goal for two of great soccer games I have ever been to - USA 1-0 Brazil in the Gold Cup semifinals, and USA 1-1 Italy in the World Cup group stage.
