MORE BREAKING NEWS:

Landon Donovan has withdrawn from the USA roster for the friendly against France on Nov 11.
-I said I would be surprised if this DIDN'T happen.

BREAKING NEWS:

The Colorado Rapids announced on Monday that the club will not renew the contract of Head Coach Gary Smith. The Rapids will begin a search for a new head coach immediately.

“After meeting with Gary, we decided it would be in the best interest of both parties to move in a different direction,” said Colorado Rapids Managing Director Jeff Plush. “We’d like to thank Gary for his many contributions to the Colorado Rapids organization. He was instrumental in the Rapids winning our first-ever MLS Cup last year, and we wish him nothing but the best as he explores new opportunities.”

Incredible! Just one year removed from a Championship they could not agree with their head coach on a way forward. Smith talked to the press last month about his inability to work with the team's technical director Paul Bravo, and basically stated "Its him or me." I guess it was him! Boom!
