USA For The Win! The women won today over France and have advanced to the World Cup final on Sunday. Kick off time is 1:45pm CT.

And Japan who have been the big surprise at this tournament ran over Sweden in the second half and laid claim to a liaison with our Americans in the finale! It should be one hell of game. Do the upstarts have what it takes? It would seem that they do.

Joey Barton of Newcastle has been denied a USA visa because of his criminal record and will not be with the team on their preseason tour of America.

Victory! The USA got the win they wanted so badly but had to work hard to get it. After going out to an early lead a little against the grain they began to suffer at the hands of a never ending France attack which finally produced a goal early in the 2nd half. But then the USA made personnel and formation changes and took over the last 20 minutes of the game. They got 2 goals to win and seal it.

US OPEN CUP

Quarterfinals

7 MLS teams and 1 holdout from USL Pro (3rd Div) battled it out this week in the Quarterfinal.

Richmond got to play spoilers and send a 3rd division team to the Semifinals as they went to KC and threw a knock out blow after mother nature tired to throw one with an hour rain & lightning delay.

Chicago used their regular first 11 to destroy a clearly 2nd string New York team that flew in the day of the game, didn't bring the head coach Hans Bache and only brought 14 players.

Dallas had a mixture of first and second teamers on the field to beat Salt Lake who only switched out goal keepers to their regular starters.

The fourth Quarterfinal game is tonight.
