STARTERS

One more week until the 2011 Mexican Primera Division Apertura season begins.
-UNAM Pumas won the Clausura in a big upset.

MATCH FIXING IN TURKEY

AFP reports that Besiktas is set to surrender the Turkish League Cup title they won last season. Via Yahoo.

Hurriyet reports on the arrest today of 5 more people including another executive at Besiktas, a staff member of Besiktas and a player at Istanbul.

Hurriyet also looks at Galatasaray who have been left in the clear, and are actually pushing for more and faster investigation.

Galatasaray released this statement on their website asking for urgency and thoroughness. Also saying that if need be the start of the new season should be delayed.

COPA AMERICA

The 2011 South American championship is being hosted by Argentina.

Twice Ecuador came back to tie Brazil but they could not hold on for a third try and lost the game.

Big friendlies will be played this summer all around North America featuring mainly European teams in their preseasons.

After a scoreless first half the subs came on and Man U simply has a much deeper bench. They rolled over New England after that.
