MY THOUGHTS

New York attacked with laser precision last night. They never had to attack much because DC was so futile, but when they did....... look out.

Thierry Henry had two first half goals that just killed DC's spirit.

But as Henry said after the game, DC weren't that bad. No, they fell apart in the back and had no control on either wing, but they were better than a 0-4 home loss.

NY forward Luke Rodgers is inching closer and closer to a full meltdown. And I would not be surprised if the league suspends him for the punch he threw that went uncalled.

He was also pretty poor last night.

It looks like DC midfielder Branko Baskovic is finally getting in shape. When he came on DC came to life. I know they were already down 0-2 and soon to be 0-3, but he was clearly more skilled than the other midfielders.

MLS play has outgrown DC defensive stopper Clyde Simms.

How good will NYRB be when Dwayne DeRosario gets his feet under him and starts cooking along with the rest of the attack? And you know he will at some point this season. He has never had a bad season.

Joel Lindpere's great goal for NYRB is being forgotten about already due to the ballet shot Juan Agudelo hit a few minutes later. Lets see both shall we. Lindpere - and - Agudelo.

And finally in tribute to my Friends In Football at United Mania, unfortunately a classic Fred move. See it here.

It was awesome hearing TV commentator John Harkes do his Shep Messing impersonation!!! Wooooooooooooooooooooow.

MLS COACHES HOT SEAT

Is there already a hot-seat forming? Yes there most certainly is. And as our preseason prognostication said, there are two candidates already getting close to the flames:
-Carlos de los Cobos - Chicago Fire SC
-Peter Vermes - Sporting Kansas City

Both of these teams have tools, and those tools need to be used more efficiently or...... who knows.
