WHAT???

With about 10 minutes to play in a preseason match last night Roger Espinoza of Kansas City took out Javier Morales of Salt Lake with a very rough tackle, and then all hell broke loose. Both teams benches cleared and pushing and shoving and shouting ensued. Eventually the rest of the game was called off, and the matched ended tied 2-2.

NEW YORK RED BULLS

Over 23,000 showed up last night in Phoenix for the Red Bulls preseason game. The game ended in a 1-1 tie, with a Tim Ream own goal counting for Atlas and a Rafael Marquez penalty kick counting for the Bulls.

Fullback Chris Albright has had surgery to repair torn meniscus in his left knee.
-I know he hurt one of his knees quite badly a few years ago, but I don't know if this is the same one.

Ricky Kaka has joined Cristiano Ronaldo on the injured list at Real Madrid. Both are expected to miss two weeks. Kaka is suffering from a strain in the same knee he injured last year and played on during the World Cup to ill effect. This guy needs some serious time off to recover.

Yeah, and Omar Bravo came back ONTO THE PITCH to KICK MORALES IN THE HEAD.

I think there's going to be some "fun" drama around this cat this season.

PUTTING AN END TO ANY OMAR BRAVO RUMOR: (from the Salt Lake Tribune)

...the referee then mistakenly red-carded Sporting KC's Omar Bravo as the benches cleared. They claimed that Bravo returned to the scrum on the field and kicked Morales in the head before the game was called off, something Sporting KC officials emphatically denied.

“He had nothing to do with this,” RSL spokesman Rob Thomson said.

'You come with me - I get tickets'...great book! I read it a number of years ago and I remember it being so interesting.
