STORY OF THE DAY

My friends-in-football at the Chicago Fire Independent Supporters Association (aka Section 8) has donated over $10,000 to charity from fund raising events in 2010. Stunning work! Incredible. I am proud to know people this good.

TEAM USA

The annual January training camp for young and out-of season players with national team potential begins tomorrow Tue Jan 4 in Carson CA and ends with a friendly game on Sat Jan 22 at the Home Depot Center.

US Soccer tells us that Yevgeni (Eugene) Starikov of Tom Tomsk in Russia has been added to the USA training camp group. He is a forward.
-He was on my initial list of players that I thought could have been called in to camp but were not, so its exciting to see him get the chance.

There would absolutely be one copy sold of Dax McCarty's Kraftwerk covers album (entitled 'I Was a Robot-Footballer'... sorry, I worked on a funny title for a solid three minutes and that's the best I could do).
That copy would be bought with absolute glee by you my friend, the only human being who loves Kraftwerk and McCarty equally.
Awesome.

Interesting, that 3 of those goalies on the US roster vs Chile have at one point been property of Chicago Fire. Pickens, Cervi, and Johnson.

We're always stacked with goaltending talent, apparently
