STORY OF THE DAY

John Molinaro of the CBC on the demented thinking of Slappy Jack and CONCACAF.

STORY OF THE DAY - FOLLOW-UP

Yesterday was all about the New York Cosmos announcing that Man United legend Eric Cantona had been hired as their director of soccer.

Paul Kennedy of Soccer America can't help but see bringing in Cantona as anything more than a novelty act.

My biggest question from day one has been, "Where is the money coming from?" I know that one of the people in charge comes from a big time real estate background, but if you can find me someone in that world market with actual cash on hand these days, then you my friend may also be inline for a shot a reviving the dodo bird.
