Greg Seltzer at MLSsoccer.com tells us that Jermaine Jones has left Germany and Schalke and signed with Blackburn in England. OK. Not bad.

TEAM USA

Training continues in Carson CA with the young inexperienced USAers as they prepare for next Saturday's game against Chile at the Home Depot Center.

Brad Friedel - Aston Villa - went the full 90, drew 1-1 at Birmingham.
Marcus Hahnemann - Wolverhamtpon - didn't play, lost 4-3 at Man City.
Stuart Holden - Bolton - started, went 83, lost 2-0 at Stoke.
Tim Howard - Everton - went the full 90, committed foul for penalty, drew 2-2 at Liverpool.

Nottingham Forest announces that Robbie Findley has gotten his official work permit and will join the team asap!
-The team is currently in 8th place of the English Championship (second) Division. They are 9 points off the lead with 2 games in hand on the leaders.

du Nord recap: Man U (draw) kept the lead over Man City (win) on goal differential but still have 2 games in hand. #3 Arsenal & #4 Chelsea both won, while #5 Tottenham drew wtih Man U.

There are only 10 points separating #7 Bolton from #20 West Ham.

SPAIN

du Nord recap: Real Madrid stumbled for the 4th time this season, drawing 1-1 at Almeria and are now 6 points behind Barcelona who cruised to another victory. 3rd place Villarreal won as well, and are a pretty good team overall, but they are 13 point out of the lead.

GERMANY

du Nord recap: Dortmund is a force of nature right now winning big again and running their lead to 12 points over #2 Hannover (who won), 13 points over #3 Mainz & #4 Leverkusen (who both lost), and 16 over Bayern Munich who blew a late lead and drew.

ITALY

du Nord recap: Top team Milan here held to a draw, but #2 Napoli failed to gain ground by only drawing as well, while #3 Lazio, #4 Roma and #5 Juve all won.

Inter (currently in 6th) has a big chance to move the table up on Wed when they host Cesena. They are now (having won four in a row under new coach Leonardo) 9 points off the lead with two games in hand.

FRANCE

du Nord recap: #1 Lille continues to win, with #2,3,4 & 5 PSG, Rennes, Lyon and Marseille following suit. There is only a 3 point difference between the 5 teams.

Lille is an amazing team of barely recognizable players, their two best known being striker Gervinho from Ivory Coast, and Ligue leading goal scorer (15 goals in 19 games) Moussa Sow from Senegal.
