I have to admit that I am kind of baffled by the selection of only 2 newcomers - Lichaj and Shea - why not more? Are they really the only 2 worthy of a look at this point? (Shea and Pearce will join the USA after their Dallas game on the weekend.)

What about the half dozen or so other talented but untested youngsters on MLS teams at the top of the table? Are you kidding me?

And there are really no players from the MLS teams that are out of the hunt who deserve at least a chance right now? No one from Chivas, Houston, Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia, New England or DC? Not one?

What about the Mexico based players?

Will we finally see Jermiane Jones in a USA uniform?

I am encouraged by the fact that Bradley is going to force someone other than Landon Donovan (not on the roster) to run the show.

I think most of the young MLSers will get a chance in the next set of friendlies and the January camp. Shea was probably the only ones Bob could get released. I think this is a fun roster and these friendlies will be interesting to watch, for a change.

it's not a great to bring in new players, especially with the January camp looming in a couple of months. Of the MLS teams out of contention you mentioned I can't think of one player outside of Kevin Alston should get called in. With 2 friendlies and a small roster bringing in numerous new faces would be problematic in trying to teach them all the system. Come January you'll see all the babyfaced MLSers in camp

This might have been part of the conflict between USSF and Klinsman. I bet Jurgen would have called in all the young MLS players without regard to the MLS season and playoffs.

Doesn't Jermaine Jones count as a newcomer?
