CHICAGO FIRE

The Tribune with an article on an eye injury to keeper Sean Johnson, and the chances of the Fire being eliminated from playoff contention Friday night.

HOUSTON DYNAMO

Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the Chronicle reports that the knee injury suffered by Brian Ching was not as severe as first thought, meaning he will only be out 1 week, as opposed to having surgery.

TORONTO FC

You can add Ali Gerba to the list of forwards that TFC has tossed overboard who then scored giant pales full of goals at his next club. Gerba didn't sign on with Montreal until the season was half over, but he currently sits on 11 goals in 14 games.
-Others goal scoring castoffs include: Edson Buddle, Conor Casey and Jeff Cunningham, who have scored 40, 40 and 33 goals respectively since leaving TFC. Wow!

Ridge Mahoney of Soccer America says that while Dwayne De Rosario's complaints to TFC management may have been done poorly, his message was dead on.

USSF DIVISION 2

The playoffs got rolling last night as the NSC Stars played Carolina to a scoreless draw in Minnesota. It was a very intense game that had 7 or 8 great goal scoring chances stopped by good goalkeeping and bad finishing. Pathetically there were less than 700 people at the game.

Montreal did exactly what they needed to do and stuffed Austin 2-0.

The other 4 teams face-off tonight.
