Some News for Tue Sep 14, 2010

STARTERS - THE MO & PREKI SHOW

The owners of Toronto FC feel the urgency and today fire general manager Mo Johnston, and head coach Preki. Wow. Johnston earned it, Preki probably didn't.
-Here is the official press release and a video of the entire press conference.
-Asst Nick Dasovic will be the interim head coach as the team desperately tries to make the playoffs, and advance out of the group stage in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Some TFC fans during last Saturday's nightmare loss to last place DC started singing Twisted Sister's We're Not Gonna Take It.

STORY OF THE DAY

Good News First:
MLS has announced that they will keep the same schedule format for next season, with everyone playing each other home and way once. Meaning that with 2 new teams joining next season the total number of games will increase by 4 to 34.

Bad News Next:
There will be no breaks in games for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, or any other FIFA international dates.

Details Last:
The 2011 regular season will kick off on Sat Mar 19 and conclude on Sat Oct 22.

CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Round Three of the Group Stage will be played Sep 14-16. Including Seattle's trip to the Purple Monster!

The set up has 4 groups of 4 with everyone playing the others in their group home and away for a total of 6 games. At the end, the top 2 from each group will advance to the quarterfinals etc, which will also be home and away.
