STORY OF THE DAY
Yesterday I noted the background of the top 2 guys behind the return of the New York Cosmos, but I missed a very important player: Terry Byrne, Director of Soccer, is David Beckham's bobo. Yes, the guy who AEG let run roughshod over the organization and infamously hired Ruud Gullit as the Galaxy head coach.
Brian Strauss of Fanhouse picks up on more of the story.
THIS IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT
Another win in the courts for the players on the 2006 Trinidad & Tobago World Cup team!!!
-Warner offered them $5600 each, while the court is ordering $1.8 Million each.
-And some say the payout should be more than twice that.
The T&T Express has the full run of what is going down:
-On the latest ruling by that countries courts forcing Jack Warner and the federation to pay the players their bonuses that were promised.
-On the politics of it all.
-Reaction from players involved.
-On the long slog its been by the players to get whats owed them.
I hope these players aren't getting to excited to see their money any time soon though. You know old Jack has several more bullets in his weapon.
(Thanks to Joe for the heads up on this new chapter.)

7 Comments:
Jordan Graye has looked pretty bad the 2 or 3 times I've seen him play. Am I missing something, or are the 2nd and 3rd tier rookies that much worse?
I have seen the name Conor Chinn a lot recently, with RBNY during the NY Challenge. That's the only tier 3 player ringing a bell. I believe he scored a goal in one of those friendlies.
Hey Bruce, Frieburg are not newly promoted, I got to see Danny play last season, they barely made not getting relegated. He not bad but still young and raw, hopefully he can break the starting 11 and get plenty of playing time.
It's Stoke City, not Stoke.
"It's Stoke City, not Stoke."
right, right
i got it confused with all the other teams from stoke, and it sounds like you didnt want to be confused either
and i have to remember to type out the full name of all the other teams like birmingham city and newcastle united and west ham united so we dont get confused with the other teams with the words birmingham, newcastle and west ham in their name either
thanks anonymous
You are correct about Freiburg. I forgot that they were the team in the Bundesliga that had to play a team from the 2nd division in the promotion/relegation playoff and stayed up, not the other way around. always appreciate the good knowledge.
Tchani probably deserves to be in the top tier.
