ALL AROUND THE WORLD

A little old but... Simon Kuper writing for Foreign Policy tells us that the World Cup recently seems to mean nothing culturally/politically on a historical level. (thanks to Sean for the link)
-"The World Cup has gone from nationalist frenzy to universal carnival, a sort of cheesy "We Are the World" video brought to life."

ENDERS

These are two of the best American soccer team logos I have seen lately. Both teams are in the NPSL, with potential to move up the pyramid.
-If you are going to be lame and put a soccer ball in your logo, at least have the style to make it look as original as Chattanooga did!

I stole these images from the blog Perfectly Weighted Through Ball, who focus a lot on this league. Great job by Ryan.

Check out the web site of www.chattanoogafc.com and this post on the branding : http://widgetsandstone.com/page/case-studies/the-worlds-game-our-team -- you will be further impressed.

This is easily the best amateur team you've never heard of (when we have all our starters), in the best small city in the US you've never paid attention to, with the absolute best fans you've never heard of (all 4,400 per game of them!).
