STARTERS - ALL BOB BRADLEY EDITION

USA coach Bob Bradley is rumored to be the top candidate for the open managers position at Aston Villa in England. AV's boss Martin O'Neill suddenly resigned today.
-England's Daily Mirror reports that they want Michael Bradley and Landon Donovan too. (Not a chance on Donovan if they are as broke as they supposedly are.)
-Simon Evans of Reuters says Bradley is interested, in Bob's own vaguely worded way.
-Martin Jol of Ajax is the favorite to get the job.

Ronald Blum of the Associted Press tells us that Bradley and US Soccer will hold talks about his future with Team USA after the Brazil game. Via USA Today.

STORY OF THE DAY

Ridge Mahoney of Soccer America uses the Los Angeles Galaxy v Real Madrid match as a way to show where MLS really stands in the hierarchy of world football.

HMMMMM, VERY INTERESTING

Yura Movsisyan, who is Armenian, has been touted as a possible Team USA player, has accepted an invitation to play for his homeland in a friendly tomorrow against Iran.
-They play Euro qualifiers starting next month, and playing in those games would tie him to Armenia forever.

FACT OF THE DAY

Houston has gone 9 league games without a win. We hear a lot about the losses of Stuart Holden and Ricardo Clark as a reason for the drop in quality for this team, but I take it one step further back and look at the loss of Dwayne DeRosario as a much bigger factor. They have also never solved their lack of forward goal scoring even though they have had a revolving door of candidates on the roster.
