Some News for Tue Jun 8, 2010
STARTERS
I don't believe that we have been told this: "John Harkes .... will work as a commentator on all of the U.S. team's games."
dN
Our fellow Americans really are as stupid as the rest of the world thinks we are: "Nielsen Media Research said 46 percent of North Americans believe that the United States is going to shock the soccer world and take home the trophy."
-And then the ignorance/arrogance really comes out: "Only 18 percent said they would follow the World Cup."

STORY OF THE DAY
The BBC with a story on a great and barely known South African player who we have honored before here at du Nord. The late great Ace Ntsoelengoe.
-I know him as a star on my childhood team the Minnesota Kicks. To me he was their great player. He also hit the great goal I have ever seen in person, a bombing line drive from about 40 yards out that stunned an entire Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington MN!
I don't know if I have ever had a story that so many people sent me the link too. That is how much he is revered around here.
THIS IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT
With what must have become a nightmare over Steve Ralston has left the sinking ship in St Louis and returned to the New England Revolution.
-A video interview upon his arrival back in Foxborough.

5 Comments:
Say it ain't so Bruce! I much prefer Andy Gray or even Alexi Lalas to John Harkes.
please not John Harkes. anyone but John Harkes. i'd rather have Jim Rome than John Harkes. maybe all of you big fancy Designated Player bloggers can gang up and force ESPN to reconsider this mistake? i have to believe the majority of American soccer fans are anti-Harkes.
"Only 18 percent said they would follow the World Cup."
How is that arrogant or ignorant? Also notice the poll was of North Americans, not just Americans.
18% of the North American population is a lot of people still.
46%?
off topic... what was the percentage of votes that mccain/palin garnered?
