Tremendous accomplishment by Charlie Davies that he got to the point already where the headlines today are all about him, he showed a lot of guts to get this far, and we all look forward to seeing him in the 2014 World Cup.

Until then, it's one month away for the rest of the team!!

You could cut 5 forwards from this team.

I think Sam is overreacting just a bit, but I am completely mystified over Findley's inclusion. Seriously, Bob, if you need someone to play up front that bad, I'm available.
As for gomez and Buddle, I haven't seen them play yet and I can only pray that they have break-through tournaments like Davies had.
Also, I don't understand the ire coming out over Davies. I wish he were included too, but fans' anger seems bizarre.

I guess you can use Buddle up front in a 442 with J.A. since he's been 'hot' and Donovan has been feeding him in LA. Other than that, I'd rather see the 451 with Duece & Donovan on the wings to go 433 when desired.

Wes- you're probably right. But mostly I agree with Jim's 451 and agree that is probably the most likely scenario.

Sad about Charlie :( I don't understand all the hate for Bob or USSF because of it. Sochaux didn't clear him. Simple as that.

All this talk about who should start next to Jozy is silly. Move Dempsey up top and put Holden on the wing. Buddle and Gomez are subs at best.

Findley's got no chance of making it. In my opinion EJ, Buddle and Gomez are competing for 2 spots. Maybe even 1 if Bob moves Dempsey up top and takes an extra defender (Pearce?) or an extra midfielder.

As I see it, 19 roster spots are locked up:

GK(3): Howard, Hahnemann, Guzan
DEF(6): Bocanegra, Spector, DeMerit, Onyewu, Cherundolo, Bornstein
MID(8): Donovan, Dempsey, Bradley, Edu, Clark, Holden, Torres, Feilhaber
FW(2): Altidore, Ching

The remaining 4 spots will be fought between:

#19 - Bedoya vs. Beasley
#20 - Buddle vs. EJ vs. Gomez
#21 - Goodson vs. Marshall
#22 & #23 - For the last 2 spots: Pearce vs. loser of Bedoya/Beasley battle, and 2 of the strikers who don't win spot #20
