MLS COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT

The current deal expired on Jan 31, 2010, but the two sides agreed to originally extend it until Feb 12, and a further 13 days to Feb 25. And now that Feb 25 has come and gone with no new deal being finished, we enter the Twilight Zone.

Bruce - Following up on your "Why?" section... Any word on what's up with the larger ESPN US Soccer section? They lost Ives - and I think at least one more senior writer - and now no Jen Chang (who I also like a lot).

In fact, there seems to have been a relatively major shake-up in the US Soccer media and no one (that I've seen) is talking much about it. But you've got Ives moving, a few guys over at the SI section moving, etc.

One wonders...

my feeling on why this is happening is because no one is making any money at this

if cash was coming in, then product would be flowing out

and espn has become england obsessed

when you go to the front page of soccernet its about 85-90% england news, even though they have a full england section

obviously that is what people are reading
