-Daniel Girard of the Toronto Sun reports that the new grass has been laid at BMO Field, and the MLS Cup Final game will follow in November.

MY THOUGHTS

Two more things from my weekend road trip to Kansas City that I forgot to mention yesterday:

1. I thought KC's new left winger Ryan Smith had himself a great debut. He was smooth, quick, direct and fearless. And he got himself a goal. I loved his performance.

2. On the way back north we stopped by the memorial to Buddy Holly, Richie Valens & The Big Bopper in Clear Lake Iowa where their plane crash and killed them and the pilot on Feb 3 1959.

The Topeka Capital Journal is excited about the new stadium being built for Kansas City after a tour of the premises.
-I drove by the site on Saturday and was amazed at the spot they are shoehorning this stadium into. It right in the thick of things. Nice.

Being of hispanic origin and a Dynamo fan, I have no problem with the Burrito Grande nickname given Landin. I don't see it as racist, merely descriptive given his country of origin. I find it a humorous nickname. Some people are just overly sensitive.
