Herculez Gomez scored very little in the last couple seasons in MLS, then leaves this winter for Mexico, and this weekend scored in his 5th straight game for The Sweet Potato Makers of Puebla! Wow-o-Wow-o-Wow. Could it be as simple as playing him as a striker instead of as an attacking midfielder?

The USA has announced their final World Cup preparation match against "Australia on June 5 in Roodepoort, South Africa, one week before playing its first match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Kickoff at Ruimsig Stadium in suburban Johannesburg is set for 2:30 p.m. local time (8:30 a.m. ET), and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2"

Official Statement from LA Galaxy General Manager and Head Coach Bruce Arena regarding an injury suffered by midfielder David Beckham: “Injuries are an unfortunate part of our game and they are even more disappointing when they happen to a player who was so close to realizing his dream of representing his nation at this summer’s World Cup,” said Arena. “We will give David our complete support to make sure that he is able to get himself back to full health before he returns to the field.
