STARTERS

Sunday is the return of the Derby du Nord!! Lens v Lille in the French Ligue 1! This makes me a very happy man!

THE LATEST WORD ON USA V HONDURAS VIEWING IN THE TWIN CITIES

So if you haven't heard yet, we have a real mess on our hands for viewing this World Cup qualifying game on Sat Oct 10. The company who owns the rights for broadcast has chosen not to sell the viewing rights and is going to attempt to do a Closed Circuit Pay-Per-View situation in select bars only! Yes, you have read that correctly. So far I nothing at all about where we will be able to see this one in our area. But I will be doing full research to find us all the best viewing spot. I will be in touch with my favorite place The Sweetwater in St Paul and hope they will be coming through for us. I should know a lot more by the middle of next week, and of course I will let all you fine people know as soon as I find out anything. So sit tight for now and then wait for the magic to happen.

USL FIRST DIVISION

My Minnesota Thunder finish off their 2009 season out of the playoffs. It's been another painful season to be a fan of this organization. I like a lot of these players, and I can see some potential, but the formula from top to bottom is off mark, with no correction in sight. Sigh. See you all at around 2:30 for some pregame partying. The game against Charleston kicks off at 5pm. I bet there will be a lot of free tickets floating around if you just show up. Seriously. Show up. Please.

EUROPE

Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor has been given a 3 game suspension for his actions last week in the game against his former team Arsenal. He not only raced the length of the field to taunt Arsenal fans at the other end of the stadium after scoring a goal against them, but he also kicked out at Arsenal forward Robin Van Persie and appeared to step on him quite hard. Why so angry my man?

I'd actually prefer if every bar owner says NO to the extortion.

Secondly, CONCACAF needs to fix this and give the team playing rights to their own country. It's obvious that this rule is meant to give more cash at the expense of American and Mexican fans, because that's where the population is in CONCACAF. Total bullshit.
