LAMAR HUNT US OPEN CUP

A huge night of upsets as Harrisburg, Wilmington, Charleston & Rochester all knock off MLS sides!

dN

Kansas City and DC also advanced.

dN

With my Thunder losing last night I would have to say the highlight of the night would then go to meeting Kyle Rogers of the Wizards PR staff. He does their great team blog Hillcrest Road, and is an all around excellent guy. Cheers Kyle.

dN

My second highlight of the night was tossing a jackass out of our section who threw a beer at the KC bench when they scored their first goal. Everyone around him took the responsibility and he was gone within seconds. We will not stand for that crap. And it was hardly sad news to see him go because the vast majority of us have NEVER like the guy anyway.

That final matchup should be a doozy! The old Oregon v Washington rivalry. Long time rivals in the First Division with a true hatred of each other. Can't wait to watch!

CONCACAF GOLD CUP

The North & Central American and Caribbean confederation's championship tournament kicks off on July 3. Canada v Jamaica and Costa Rica v El Salvador start the proceedings.

dN

In classic CONCACAF bumbling fashion, the official website has incomplete team rosters, leaving off the forwards! Hahahahahahahaha. Clueless.

dN

Canadian goalkeeper Greg Sutton writes about the tournament for the CBC also.

dN

See all the games on FSC & Univision.

TEAM USA

One thing I have noticed is that all the other bigger teams in this tournament are playing warm up games. This particular USA team has not. Will it be a problem? I would think so seeing as most of these guys have NEVER played together.

dN

CONCACAF has announced that due to the USA just competing in the Confederations Cup, they will be allowed an additional 7 players on their roster. Who might they be?

dN

dN

Kurt Streeter of the LA Times knows the very same sentiment to be true. In a very realistic way.

dN

On the other hand here is the kind of insult ready boob barking like a retarded dog about soccer not being as good as "real football" (which of course is the NFL - in his words). Will this ignorance ever end. Does this guy ever rip hockey, golf, tennis etc? No, cuz he is a lazy zenophobe. I know, why do I even read this crap?

dN

CNN with an article pointing out that we still don't see much of the Hispanic influence on soccer in America at the highest level. What this guy, and his main interview subject are too lazy to do is look at the make up of the USA youth set ups - tons of African, Latino and Asian immigrants everywhere!

WORLD CUP SOUTH AFRICA 2010

Sports Illustrated talks to ESPN's John Skipper to get more info on the networks plans for covering the World Cup. They plan a lot of quantity. Now we have to pray for quality, something for which I have never been all that impressed by from ESPN.

It was a darn shame that thunder game was so poorly refereed. I have no idea how the linesman did not see Roger Espinoza kick Andrew Peterson in the stomach with his studs when i saw it plain as day. And that other scumbag Morisink dropping the f-bomb so loud the whole stadium heard. Shame we had to go out to them.

I saw the beer throw from a few sections over and was very impressed how quickly the Dark Clouds reacted to get rid of the guy and apologize to the Wizard bench. Kudos.

I was also impressed with the Thunder organization as the guy was then thrown out of the stadium.

That kind of action should not be tolerated and in Minnesota it isn't.
