Klaatu Barada Nikto News

It's over for Roy Keane at Sunderland. He resigned the job today. And just two days ago I said he wouldn't do it. Foolish me, but that's nothing new.

~and~

The idea is being kicked around MLS to have the team with the best record host the MLS Cup final. While this might bring out more passion from the locals, I don't think the national coverage will be as good. I love making plans months ahead of time and going to some warm sunny spot for a long weekend in November. Please keep it the way it is.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

One big reason that I am very happy for Internacional, the team nicknamed Colorado (The Red), is because last summer they signed one of my very favorite players, Argentine midfielder Andres D'Alessandro. He is a guy I have been begging to MLS to go get.

The Newcastle Fans' stuff about Mido is blown out of proportion; the abuse he took wasn't because he was Egyptian/Arab. The original chants were about the fact that he looks like Richard Reid, the Shoe Bomber. While it's definitely gone beyond that in some quarters, the newspapers seem to revel in writing anything they can about Newcastle fans being 'unruly.'

I'm always left feeling empty when a guy like Parkhurst leaves for a European club that's in a smaller league. I get why they do it, it's more pay, and it puts them in a better position to get bought by a bigger league, but it's just disappointing. I'd love to see MLS hang on to good players, or else lose them to marquee leagues where you can actually see the guys play.

I agree with Pat. I just looked up Nordsjælland on Wikipedia and they play in a 10,000 seat stadium. I wish that wasn't "moving up" for MLS players.

Timo Hildebrand signed with Valencia on July 4, 2007. So this is his second season. Interesting to see where this guy is going. Tottenham could be calling him
