Jeepers That Was Fast News

Taylor Twellman is OUT. He has continued to suffer concussion symptoms since his clash with LA keeper Steve Cronin back in late August. So the team is taking him out of commission until he is fully recovered. That would certainly explain his lack of being his normal self in the past several games. We all thought it was due to overall team tiredness and injury depletion, but this explains some of it too. Very sad to see. But I am glad he is dealing with it properly. Here is the official news release from the team.

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION

Midfielder Shalrie Joseph apologized for his comments after their game on Saturday night. He had stated that the team went after Herculez Gomez on purpose because he had injured Steve Ralston 2 weeks prior. Here is the apology from Jospeh and a statement from the team concerning that apology:
-STATEMENT FROM NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION MIDFIELDER SHALRIE JOSEPH: "I want to apologize for my comments after our game on Saturday night against Kansas City. I was still caught up in the heat of the match. I regret implying that we were looking for payback. I know my comments don’t reflect the feelings of my teammates or the club."
-STATEMENT FROM THE NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION: “We apologize for Shalrie Joseph’s comments following our match on Saturday night. There was no concerted effort to single out any player on Kansas City’s squad. We would never condone such behavior or actions.”
~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I would not be surprised if the league punished Joseph for his initial remarks, because while he did apologize, anyone who watched the game could clearly see that some of the New England players did target Gomez for retribution.
