Do You Want Him News

Jon Conway and Jeff Parke of the New York Red Bulls have been found to be using a banned performance enhancing supplement. They have been suspended 10 games each by MLS. Buuuut, this supplement is available over the counter everywhere in the USA. So how can that be a banned substance? More on this story in the New York Red Bulls section.

Well Hello Grandpa! Nice to see you! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the man known as Grandpa has finally arrived in MLS. You know him as Francis Doe, striker for DC United. But everyone in his native Liberia knows him as Grandpa. Yes. Grandpa. What a nickname! I would love to see all of us start to refer to him by this obviously preferred name. His two huge goals last night helped DC stay alive in the hunt for the playoffs.

Those of us who follow the Scottish national team are suffering through these qualifiers. I'm almost sympathetic of Kris Boyd. Almost.

Who's Beckman? I see him talked about twice.

Also, it's pretty clear how something that's available over the counter can be banned. There's practically no regulation for OTC supplements. And the players know the rules. Or they should.
