USA vs. Trinidad and Tobago - 7pm Central on ESPN2

Well Bruce is gone on some sort of bus trip so I’m here to give you a short USA vs. Trinidad and Tobago World Cup 2010 Qualifier Preview.

The USA come off a 1-0 win over Cuba that could have been 2 or 3 to nothing, but at the same time could have been 1-1 if not for Howard’s heroics.

Home Crowd, Stats in our Favor
The “workman like effort” the media saw in Cuba should surface again today at Toyota Park. Coming off two hard away win which netted six solid points, the National Team should be reenergized by the home crowd. Not only are they playing at home, but the statistics and factoids are in the US’ favor.
  • The US have never lost to T&T, going 8-0-2
  • The US team has scored 18 goals and conceded 5 in 2008
  • The US team is without suspensions
  • T&T is without Avery John
  • Dwight Yorke came out of international retirment for T&T but Sunderland is forcing him to stay home
Suspension Danger
Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey, Frankie Hejduk, Tim Howard and Oguchi Onyewu will be suspended for the next match if they pick up a yellow card.

Have Your Say
What do you expect to see from the National Team vs. T&T? Now that Bradley’s boys have played several games with a more experienced roster, have you overcome the initial disappointment of not seeing the young guns out there?

Buy Bruce a Shot
I hear he is a big fan of prairie fires.

EJ does not deserve the call up. He sucks. Adu and Altidore, please. Make the call, Bob. Pearce is suspect too. Where is Bornstein or Spector? Injured? Lastly, we need an attacking middie like Feilhaber. Kljestan is along those lines but not the same level. I know Benny didn't play a lick at Derby and now is in Denmark, but he showed the most promise to me and is the first heir apparent to Claudio that I have seen.
