Touching Plastic Together News

OK, so ..... a very short entry today and sadly none tomorrow, as I have to go out of town on short notice for some family business. Just read the other Designated Players sites for all the updates. See ya next week.

FC Dallas has sold midfielder Juan Toja to Steaua Bucharest in Romania (of course) [CORRECTED]. But word came to me later that this deal did not happen, and there is confusion over it happening at all now. Stay tuned. Thanks to everyone who sent me info on this.

Steaua Bucharest is owned by a corrupt politician who is a complete and utter ass. Poor Toja.

Sean Franklin is the new Eddie Pope, except he's coming in at a higher level and ability than Pope did.

I am no MLS apologist, but is it really better careerwise to move to Hungary or Norway to play? I suppose the money must be better, but other than that?

Steaua Bucharest has played in the Champions League group stages the past two editions, so yes, it is better.

Bruce,
Everywhere I read about Amos stepping down. Why do you keep saying he was fired? Do you know something we don't?

I kind of got the impression with Amos was that it was one of those, You can step down or else we'll have to let you go type of deals. Wasn't the story that he and Manny had a long talk and mutually decided to call it quits?

As far as I know and I had heard, Amos decided to step down, and Manny let him.
