Soccer Friendly Radio Host Fired
Some of you may be familiar with Mark Madden. He was a host on ESPN Radio in Pittsburgh, and he always spoke warmly of soccer. In this column from 2004 he compared soccer favorably to the NFL.
Madden was just fired for saying he is "disappointed that Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts is near death because of a brain tumor. I always hoped Senator Kennedy would live long enough to be assassinated.”
Ouch. Details here.

it really sucks he said that...he is a sports radio host he should just stick to it and come on have some respect for a US senator even if he doesn't agree with him!
Soccer Nation
Yep, I'd say comments like that would pretty much do it. What was he thinking?
