Just Checkin In From Banbury

Hi all,

Bruce here.
It's Friday afternoon, and I am relaxing in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England.
The sky is grey of course.

Thanks to everyone who has, and who will, deputize for me at du Nord while I am away.
I have loved every word of it.

I had an interesting fact to pass along for the North American readers:
Gasoline is $11 per gallon here.
Yes, eleven.
Same amount as the number of times zones that stretch across Russia.

Have fun this weekend!

Adios mutantes,
Bruce

ps. Keep your eyes on the blue box in the left hand column that says "DP - Coming June 2008".

Yeah, what the F? It's driving me a bits nutso. Maybe the MLS is advertising a new DP signing that will be unveiled in June? Who knows! Not me!

Is the MLS season "Delayed Playing" for Euro 2008?

Are tickets being "Doubled Pricing"?

Gas here in Chile has been about $5.00 U.S. dollars for years now. It always cracks me up to here people in the U.S. whining and crying about gas prices.

Also, keep in mind that the average person here makes approximately 1/18th of an average U.S. salary. So I guess that would make gas prices relatively even more expensive than the actual price.

And people in London are probably wishing they could go to the U.S. and fill their tanks with the "expensive" gas prices there.

don't people in the UK drive smaller vehicles? isn't the rail system way more effective and efficient? do they rely as much on driving as here in the states?
